At Lord of Life Lutheran, admittance to the Lord’s Supper is not based on membership of the church. We believe Jesus is present in this meal as He provides His body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. It is mysteriously wrapped up in, with, and under the bread and the wine that we receive. We simply trust Him at His word. It is a gift to sinners seeking the grace that Jesus provides.
For anyone who isn’t sure this is what they believe, we do not expect them to partake in this meal. In fact, we would highly encourage all people, whether you follow Jesus or not, to carefully examine what the scriptures teach about this meal.
When we do approach the Lord’s Table, we do so with repentant and reverent hearts, anticipating restoration, healing, and hope for the days ahead.
We do encourage anyone who needs time to learn more about the Lord’s Supper from the scriptures to come forward for a blessing and to ask the pastor or a spiritual mentor for guidance.
